The nGEL Innovators: Technovative Solutions

The nGEL project is a collaborative journey towards a more sustainable energy future. Welcome to "The nGEL Innovators", a series dedicated to introducing the key partners of the project. Today, we are presenting to you Technovative Solutions Ltd, a key partner of the nGEL project.

With a vision to address real-world challenges through technological innovation, Technovative Solutions Limited (TVS) was founded in 2012 in Manchester, England. Being focused on achieving net-zero goals, the company actively promotes a circular economy and fosters environmental sustainability. In this regard, TVS has become a powerhouse to turn innovative ideas into reality through intensive research and strategic global partnerships with industrial leaders and collaborators over the years.  This practice is amplifying their contribution to both the economy and society. TVS has an in-house multidisciplinary team of experts from science, engineering & humanities, artificial intelligence, and software & product development. Such diversity allows them to approach challenges from multiple perspectives, fostering innovative solutions that push the boundaries of what is possible. Initially started as a renewable energy-concentrated organisation, today the activities of TVS encompass a wide range of domains, including sustainability & circularity, materials & manufacturing, software solutions, digital healthcare and climate & disaster resilience.

Role in the nGEL Project:

In the nGEL project, Technovative Solutions is leading the sustainability analysis and awareness campaign. Within this responsibility, TVS is developing a parametric cost modelling controller, Energy Management System (EMS), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and thermo-economic optimisation for the nGEL integrated geothermal ORC plant, while also evaluating the environmental and economic performance of the plants. The organisation is also developing the nGEL digital twin, powered by robust AI models, to predict hourly temperature variations and ORC power output for different ambient temperatures.

This project will implement TVS’s original idea (Int. Patent Co-operation Treaty Patent Application No. PCT/GB2023/050409 UK Patent Application No. GB2302463.1) to increase the reliability of geothermal ORC against the high ambient temperature.
